When Oliver turned one, one of my best friends gave him a 6-month subscription to Gift Lit. It was, by far, one of the best gifts he got, especially since he is largely screen-free and we read a lot of books. Gift Lit is a subscription gift box that sends a special book to your baby once a month. (It’s available for all ages…hint, hint…it’s a perfect gift for bookworm moms, too!). There are a lot of subscription book packages out there, but what I think really distinguished Gift Lit is the choice of books. All of them are ones that you don’t commonly see at a book store or titles that you always receive as gifts. Yet, each book has a classic feel to it, with high quality illustrations and themes. Over and over, these are the books we not only read, but also that I choose to display, due to the fun, festive nature and the diverse choices. We have been lucky enough to work with Gift Lit after Oliver’s subscription ended and we sampled the Cuddle Collection for Babies, which includes not only a book, but also a stuffed character from the book every month. This really excites Oliver. He seems to connect a lot more with a book if he also sees a “real” character with it.
